 Started off with a small slokam and then Kalyani ata tala varnam coupled with kalpanaswarams, that  added beauty to this varnam. Moving on, he took up “Ragaratna maligache” in reethigowla ragam. Nereval at “Bhagavatottamulu” and making it more exciting with kalpanaswarams. What a great alapanai for poorvikalyani Ragam making me think which kriti would he take. But he said he will sing “Meenakshi meemudam” as 21st oct is Muthuswami Dikshitars Mukti dinam. This kriti has its own beauty. Neraval at “Madhumatamoditha” followed by kalpanaswarams. Next was “Soundararajam” in brindavanasaranga which was a moving rendition.

Then came up my favourite kriti and I somehow like the TN Seshagopalan style of this song. Yes.  It is “Kalyana Rama” in hamsanadam. Before going into the main Ragam he took “Nannu brovu” in Lalitha Ragam and “Thunai Purindarul” in varamu/ Suddha Hindolam.

 The main Ragam for the evening was thodi. Such an elaborate alapanai with a sublime grahabedam to sankarabharanam. Sayee was very good and equally gave replies to the main artist. He also did the grahabedam in the same way how Aravindji sang. The kriti was “Karthikeya” Papanasam Sivan composition. I am hearing to this kriti after a long time(thodi also). Jewel studded neraval at “Vel maruvum amalakara kamala kuru nagai” followed by kalpanaswarams. He did an awesome ragamalika kalpanaswarams, was so fast that I had to literally keep my ears open to guess the ragams. By the time he finishes one and I guess it, he would have gone to the next. This was a rapid fire ragamalika round. Anyways the ragams were nattai,gowla,arabhi, varali, Sree, Mohanam, hindolam, ahiri, neelambari, bowli and kaapi. Such a vast list of ragams. Excellent Thani by Jayachandra Rao and Sunaad Anoor. 

 Yet another ragamalika slokam consisting of saveri, shubapantuvarali, begada, atana, sindhubhairavi and dwajavanti. Then he took up “Rama Rama Rama Enniro” in dwajavanti Ragam. After this he sang a Padam “Ivan Yaro” in khamboji ragam. Towards the end he sang a thirupuzhal “Erumayil” and then the mangalam. This thirupuzhal was also a ragamalika in bhagesri, hamsanandi, khamboji and Suruti. Nadasurabhi had a ragamalika mazhai yesterday and with this the weather out also starting to rain. 

Thankfully did not have much during the concert. Such a blissful 3 hour concert. It was a wonderful team and excellent concert. Best wishes to all the artists.
