Nadasurabhi Cultural Association located in Koramangala, Bangalore is in the forefront of promoting Classical Carnatic Music. Nadasurabhi conducts the highest quality music concerts every month and a week-long Annual Festival in November, free of charge to all rasikas. Our other events include a youth festival, Thyagaraja and Purandaradasa Aradhana, and music competitions for children.

Nadasurabhi is pleased to announce its Carnatic vocal music competition for the year 2018.

Date and Time: Saturday 16th June 2018 at 4.00 PM

Venue: The Indian Heritage Academy, Near Police Station, 20th main road, 6th Block, Koramangala,  Bangalore.

Age bracket for participant: Date of Birth should be year 2000 to 2004.

Time for one participant: Maximum 15 minutes

What should be sung:  Alapana, any carnatic kriti and swaram.

How to register:

Send by post/speed post or courier to

  1. CD containing songs sung by the candidate without accompaniments with one or two songs, consisting of alapana and swaram at least for one song. It must be in MP3 format. Duration not exceeding 30 minutes. ONLY the name of the candidate is to be written on the CD.
  2.  Separate sheet giving the name, address, phone, mobile number, email id, guru and date of birth.
  3. There is no registration fees.

 Last date for receipt of applications: 15th May 2018.

Process:


A preliminary selection of candidates will be made based on the CD. Those selected will be informed by email and the candidates must present themselves for the final competition on 16th June 2018 at 3.45 PM at the venue. An expert panel of judges will evaluate the candidates. The winners will be announced on the same day. The winners will get a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 3000, 2000 and 1000 for first, second and third prize respectively.
