The warm evening of 19th May 2019, experienced a musical treat from Aishwarya Vidya Raghunath accompanied by Mathur Srinidhi, Tumkur Ravishankar adn Vyasa Vittala.
Aishwarya constructed the grand musical edifice with the three masterpieces by the Trinity, as the solid pillars. Shyama Sastri's moving song, Ninnu vinaa mari dikkevarunnaru in Purvikalyani, Muthuswami Dikshitar's melodious delight, Amba NeeLayadaakshi in Neelambari and inimitable Thyagaraja's grand piece Upacharamulanu (Adi talam) with neraval and swaram at Kapata naataka sutradhari. Each one was a gem, presented elaborately with an effortless ease, to perfection. A grand selection indded. The entrance to the edifice was an arresting Saveri varnam to start with followed by a Ganesha sthuthi. Overall embellishments included a fairly detailed Ee Vasudha, Sahana kriti in the beginning and a few lovely tail pieces which included a devarnama, Ranjani ragamalika and the ever green Eppo Varuvaro by Gopalakrishna Bharati in Tamil. Not to miss out, she completed with a thillana to round up a brilliant wholesome performance.
The concert was very well received by the highly knowledgeable audience who stayed till the very end. Mathur Srinidhi has grown into a highly accomplished artist providing understanding support to the main artist and also excelling when his turn for independent performance comes up. Seasoned percussionists Tumkur Ravishankar and Vyasa Vittala greatly enhanced the concert experience both in their accompaniment and thani aavarthanam.
It was an absolutely satisfactory and satisfying concert.
